About Us

The Auburn Arts Association provides quality arts experiences for young persons, professional opportunities for area artists and performers, technical assistance and financial support encouraging community-based arts initiatives, scholarships for talented community members, cooperative arts education projects, an exhibition program and a variety of arts services and social activities.

The Auburn Arts Association was founded as a non-profit, volunteer, community-based arts organization in 1982. The Association’s primary objective is to promote arts education, encourage and support area artists, and to stimulate community interest in the arts.

The Auburn Arts Association is governed by a board made up of local artists and business persons in the community.  Membership is open to anyone, individual, senior citizen, family and corporate. Additional funding is provided by state and local grants and local businesses.

The Association works hand in hand with the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, providing instructors and classes in the visual and performing arts. The Association maintains a gallery in the Center, providing the community with exhibition space for regional artists, the only community gallery open daily to the public.

Become A Member

The Auburn Arts Association exists to serve and benefit our community in countless ways. By becoming a member, you become an integral partner in the arts.

Your membership supports art education programs and provides art classes and summer art camps, professional opportunities for area artists and performers, exhibition programs and numerous public arts events.

Membership also enables us to offer support and technical assistance to the Auburn Community Orchestra, The AU Music Project and the Auburn Area Community Theatre.

These organizations and their performances are valuable assets to the cultural life of our community. We are continually striving to accomplish our mission of building a community through the arts.
